Jadakiss - Kiss Tha Game Goodbye by VOFO.
by Rapjoint Lagos
A member of the Ruff Ryder’s crew the Lox, Jadakiss is unambiguously hard, a sniveling rottweiler of rage with the full lexicon of gangsta signifiers in his verbal arsenal. On “Kiss Tha Game Goodbye”, his first solo album, Jadakiss unloads a full clip of odious ”Glocks and bitches” clichés over pallid Goth-hop arrangements. Given the dynamism of his old band, Jadakiss’ misogynist posturing seems beneath him.
The album was released on August 7, 2001, by Ruff Ryders Entertainment and Interscope Records. The Album debuted at number five on the US Billboard 200 and number two on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
The album debuted at number five on the US Billboard 200 selling 204,000 copies in its first week. It was eventually certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for sales of over 500,000 copies in the United States. As of June 2004, the album has sold 877,000 copies.
As the last bars of Kiss tha Game Goodbye ring out, you can't help but be left with one lingering impression: kiss tha buzz goodbye. Sure, there are some bangers here: the celebratory, Alchemist-produced "We Gonna Make It," featuring Styles bubbles; the DJ Premier-blessed "None of Y'all Betta," featuring Styles and Sheek; and the gully "Un-Hunh," featuring DMX.
